E-TECH Micro Alloy Wheel Repair Kit

The E-TECH Micro Alloy Wheel Repair Kit is a cost-effective DIY solution designed to restore alloy wheels that have suffered kerb damage, scuffs, and scratches. It's quick, easy to use, and saves time and money on professional refurbishments. Developed by E-TECH Engineering, this kit allows you to achieve a virtually invisible repair with professional results.

  • Achieve a virtually invisible repair
  • Ideal for repairing kerb damage
  • Filler specially formulated for alloy wheels
  • Increases the resale value of your vehicle
  • Available in Black, Grey, and Silver

Preparing the Wheel

  • Clean the complete wheel using an alloy wheel cleaner and remove all traces of brake dust, wax, and dirt.
  • Remove any loose flakes of lacquer and lightly sand around the damaged area to smooth it out.
  • Wash again with soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry the wheel completely.
  • Ensure the area is clean and free from grease or silicone before applying any paint or filler.
  • For large bare metal areas, an etch primer may be used (e.g. E-TECH Etch Primer).

Filling the Wheel

  • Cut and mix the E-TECH Alloy Wheel Putty until it becomes a uniform dark grey colour.
  • Use cardboard as a guide if repairing wheel rims to avoid getting putty on the tyre.
  • Apply a generous amount of putty to the damaged area and shape with fingers. Smooth with a damp cloth if needed.
  • Allow to cure for around one hour, then sand and shape to match the wheel contours.
  • Clean the wheel again to remove any dust before painting.

Painting the Damaged Area

  • Mask around the repair to avoid overspray.
  • Shake the included Touch-up Paint stick for at least one minute to mix the paint thoroughly.
  • Test paint on an inconspicuous area first to check colour match.
  • Apply light coats using the brush, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next.
  • Leave to cure for 12–24 hours in a warm, dry place. Do not wash wheels for at least 3 days after painting.
