Preview UK-legal plates and live pricing. This tool lets you see sizes, styles and options before you buy in-store.
- Type your registration into the boxes — it auto-caps and formats common UK styles.
- Choose a plate size (e.g. Standard, 13×7, 21×6, Square). 21×6 is rear-only; 13×7 doesn’t support the UK badge.
- Pick a style (Standard, 4D, Gel) and add options like border, UK badge or EV badge (where available).
- Select quantity (Pair, Front, Rear) and optional fixing kit. The price updates automatically and includes VAT.
- When you’re happy with the design, visit a Millfield Autoparts branch to place your order.
Privacy: this preview runs in your browser only — we don’t see or store what you type.
In-store only: documents required to make number plates
This tool is a visualiser only — you can’t order plates online. Plates are made to order and must be collected in-store once we’ve checked your documents.
Bring the originals:
- Photo ID (mandatory) — UK photocard driving licence or passport.
- Proof of address (if your photo ID doesn’t show your current address) — recent utility bill or bank/building-society statement (usually within 3 months).
- Proof you can use the registration — must show the same name as your photo ID / address proof. Acceptable examples include:
- V5C logbook in your name, or V5C/2 new-keeper slip in your name;
- V750 (certificate of entitlement) or V778 (retention) in your name;
- Lease/hire agreement that names you as the hirer/driver.
Company / fleet vehicles: if the V5C/certificate is in a company name, bring a signed letter of authorisation on company letterhead naming you (plus staff ID if applicable). The authorisation must match your photo ID.
We cannot make plates without valid photo ID and matching entitlement documents. Plates are supplied to the current standard BSAU 145e and must follow legal font, spacing and badge rules (no custom logos or altered spacing).
We check your documents at collection; we don’t keep copies unless required by law. See our Privacy Policy.
