E-TECH Alloy Wheel Paint

The E-TECH Alloy Wheel Paint has been developed to refurbish, refresh, or customise alloy wheels, giving them a completely new appearance and a new lease of life. It provides a durable coating that resists brake dust, road salt, and cleaning chemicals, and dries to a tough, chip-resistant, long-lasting finish.

Surface Preparation

• We recommend removing the wheel from the vehicle before painting. Follow manufacturer instructions or consult a mechanic if unsure.
• Clean thoroughly using a non-damaging cleaner (e.g., Pre-paint degreaser or E-TECH Technik Surface Deep Cleaner).
• Sand off flaking lacquer or paint and smooth oxidised areas with a medium grade abrasive paper or file.
• Fill deep scuffs or scratches using E-TECH Alloy Wheel Putty. Sand and smooth for a clean finish.
• Final prep should be done with a fine grade abrasive paper. Wash and dry wheel to remove dust and debris.
• Mask off tyres, valves, and any areas not to be painted.
• Prime repaired or bare metal areas with E-TECH Repaired Surface Primer or E-TECH Self-Etch Primer as appropriate. Allow to dry and lightly sand before painting.
• Optional: Test spray on an inconspicuous area to ensure colour match. This is an acrylic-based paint.

Painting Instructions

• Ensure can is at room temperature (approx. 17°C to 21°C) before use.
• Spray in a warm, dry, and dust-free area.
• Shake can vigorously for at least 2 minutes before spraying.
• Hold can 20–30cm (8"–12") from the surface and apply in a smooth side-to-side motion.
• Apply several thin coats, allowing 10 minutes between each for drying.
• Shake can between coats for best results.
• After use, invert the can and spray to clear the nozzle, or remove the nozzle and soak in thinners.

Optional Finish: For a high-gloss, showroom-quality finish, apply E-TECH Clear Coat Lacquer (Part No: AWL-187216) after a minimum of 24 hours drying time. This lacquer provides a durable "wet look" finish and seals the painted surface.
